A photographer who listens before he shoots

I'm Lewis. I photograph and film weddings, families and events — mostly around Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and London, but the camera's taken me further too: Dubai, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Spain, Portugal, Canada. I'll travel. Just ask.

I'm not big on stiff, over-posed shots. I'd rather catch the real stuff — the look on your dad's face mid-speech, the flower girl gone rogue, the moment nobody knew was a moment. If it looks like it actually happened, I've done my job. That said, I'll happily round everyone up for the group shots. Mum will want them.

Where did it start? Watching my dad photograph wildlife. He'd sit for hours waiting for one shot, and something about that patience — waiting for the real moment rather than forcing one — stuck with me. It's still the way I work now. Before weddings and families, I spent six-plus years filming and photographing the fitness industry, which turns out to be brilliant training: fast-moving subjects, unpredictable light, no second takes. A wedding day holds no fear after that. Somewhere along the way my corporate work even ended up in science magazines, which still feels slightly surreal to say.

It's just me. No agency layers, no second shooters you've never met. You message me, you get me, and I'm the one turning up with the camera.
